Building Materials - Copper

Copper is one of the most resource-efficient building materials available to you.  Copper roofing shingles not only have a high recycled content, but they also require a low level maintenance and are very durable.  Copper roofing can last well over 100 years!!!  The oldest known copper roof was applied 281 years ago and counting!   What makes copper so durable is blue/green color that the surface turns.  These roofs are very durable to the whole spectrum of weather that they may endure.  Copper roofs are a common use for copper in the building process.  It is also used for gutters, and for all of these wonderful attributes we just named!  Copper also ads a nice detailing to pieces to the house, especially if they serve a purpose as well.  If you can use copper to enhance the look of specific detailing, while, for example, on edges or meeting points of different materials.
